We were using an old Joomla 1.015 Content Management System.
As time go by there’s this need to migrate to a new site to address such needs – Honesty our old site (http://mares.depedonline.net) was compromised it was spammed and injected to death with unknown links – we were hit hard by malware and trojans masquerading in our old site – I really don’t know if the hosting service has something to do with this – but according to them, they cleaned-up the whole site, but still the re-infection keeps on coming back.
So I decided that the old (http://mares.depedonline.net) now be moved to a new domain DepEd Mares (http://www.depedmares.com) giving me the freedom to freely manage and perform important updates related to hosting, domain management, patch updates, periodic security audits.
The migration went well somehow – migrated to a new Joomla 1.5.15 latest build, manually migrated files and installed security compliant plug-ins, modules and components (Be careful on installing 3rd party plug-ins, modules and components, they may cause some security breaches in your site, test it first before deploying.)
Aside from that we were showcased in a Joomla Education Community under the Pre-School category. We were new and we suddenly got popular!
